“Our mind is capable of passing beyond the dividing line we have drawn for it.
Beyond the pairs of opposites of which the world consists, other, new insights begin.”

Herman Hesse

I was born in Montreal, Canada in 1943. Since 1992, I have lived just outside of  Burlington, Vermont, USA. I now spend my time equally between Burlington and West Palm Beach, Florida.  I have been photographing for over 40 years and have earned my living as a technical illustrator, medical photographer, and graphic designer for most of my life.

For a number of reasons, I had stopped taking pictures altogether for 8 years between 1987 and 1995. Since then, I have resumed my career as a photographer with a recharged vision and purpose.

I have always enjoyed looking at things. I am a compulsive “voyeur” and the task of recording what I see is just a logical progression. What really excites me is when I can strip the unnecessary elements from the scene and narrow it down to its basic essentials. At this point it becomes something different— something unique than what is apparent on the surface
